Fake QR code stickers are being placed on parking meters, public signs and flyers. Scanning one can redirect you to a fake payment page created by scammers.

Be cautious when you:

  • Notice QR codes that look crooked, worn, or like a sticker.

  • Are asked to submit payment immediately after scanning.

  • See a code in a place it normally wouldn’t be.

QR codes offer convenience, but they can also be used to direct users to fraudulent websites. Staying vigilant can help prevent accidental exposure of sensitive information.
